Articles with Changes
Summary of Articles
The summary of changes presented below are permanent to our Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and are not part of Covid impacts, protocols, or situations.

Article 1: Agreement
Each year we normally open salary, calendar, and two other articles of choice. This year both TTA and the District agreed to move an article to next year’s discussions due to the complexity that is involved. The presented language maintains the two Articles of choice and officially notes the two we agreed to move.
Article 3: Recognition
Added Early Childhood Education Program Specialist – a position that has been in place in our Head Start and Preschool programs. They are part of our bargaining unit, but were not properly noted.
Article 4: Hours of Work
Changes include a change for counselors that their additional hours may be assigned rather than days and that their lunch time will be the same as all secondary staff
Changes to Agriculture Teachers to provide a calendar to note summer schedules for workman’s comp situations and to note their extended work schedules
Faculty Meetings will be reduced from 75 to 60 minutes
Article 5: Salary
No changes were agreed upon
Although the District received quite a bit of funding this year, it was provided with COVID focus and restrictions. We are still discussing one time money outside of this agreement, but there was not an increase to base salary or increases/changes to stipends.
Article 6: Leaves of Absence
A notation that getting a sub for pregnancy leave is not the responsibility of the employee
Changes to Association leave that clarify the leave into two categories. One allows 10 days for members to attend conferences or other PD functions under CTA/TTA. The other clarifies presidential or elected officer leaves at a full cost to TTA
Article 8: Class Size
No changes were agreed upon
We will continue to talk about the impacts of large class sizes and the number of students needed to trigger support.
Article 10: Safety Conditions
A reduction to the timeline response for safety concerns from 15 to 5 days
Reasonable support measures for safety conditions. Awareness that we have no control over law enforcement responses to safety incidents
Notation that physical assault or harm will be documented and determination of outcome will proceed through an IEP or discipline procedure
Article 11: Grievance Procedure
No changes were agreed upon
We asked for our continued interest in binding arbitration to be added to the contract.
Article 18: Provisions for Head Start and Preschool
Cleaned up numbering of the article to be in-line with the rest of the CBA
Clarified employee tasks during the workday
Moved existing language around so that it was properly noted under the correct subheadings
Article 20: Progressive Discipline
Separated Verbal Warning and Conference Summary Memorandum to be two separate steps
Added clarification to Letter of Warning and Letter of Reprimand
Cleaned up extraneous language within the right to appeal process
